Telstra's T-Box bundle deal provides a broadband connection, home phone plan and a Telstra T-Box for Internet TV in single monthly package.
As a bundled package, the content download via BigPond Movies, BigPond TV, BigPond Sport, BigPond Videos is un-metered so that it is does not count towards your broadband usage allowance.
Package Features - Broadband
The bundle includes a monthly broadband usage allowance, with no peak and off peak restrictions, and a standard modem. A Wi-Fi modem is available at an additional price.
Package Features - Home Phone
The bundle also includes your line rental costs and various calling packages for local and international calls which differs between bundles, with unlimited calls via your home phone available on the top tier bundles.
Package Features - T-Box for Broadband TV
The Telstra T-Box is a combination of set top box and digital recorder which is similar to a cable TV box, but the additional content availalable outside of free to air TV is downloaded by broadband directly to the box for display on your TV. You can now to choose to have Foxtel also available via the T-Box at an additional price.
The T-Box offers internet content such as YouTube, Bigpond Videos and Bigpond Movie purchases & rentals. Bigpond subscribers have the option to download and watch movies from Telstra's movie database. The 320GB hard drive is capable of storing over 100 hours of SD content, or you can simply 'rent' your movies for a 48 hour period. This rental service is generally cheaper than renting a DVD and doesn't even require you to leave your living room to make a selection and begin watching.

If you are in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane / Gold Coast, Adelaide and Perth, you can access this cable broadband services. If FOXTEL™ is available to you, you should be able to get BigPond™ Cable. The Telstra cable used to provide Foxtel to your house is the same cable used to provide BigPond cable.
Downloads and Uploads
The data that you download and upload by viewing websites (including downloading and sending email) is counted in your monthly usage allowance.
Standard Modem (1 Port)
A standard Cable modem from Telstra BigPond has 1 port which means that you can connect up to 2 computers for a standard computer cable to this internet connection. If you want to go wireless, you can plug in your own wireless router to share the internet connection around the house to other computers / games consoles etc., or use a standard wired router. Select a 'wireless modem' from the modem choices to compare plans with wireless modems included.
Wireless Modem / Router (4 Ports)
If you are using two or more computers / devices in the house and you want to go wireless, you will need a wireless modem / router to network to allow these computers to access the internet. Telstra offer a single device for this and have given this a special name - the Cable Home Network Gateway. This is a modem which connects to the internet and wireless router in one, allowing you to access the internet wirelessly in your house. There are also 4 wired ports in the rear of the device to allow you to connect standard ethernet cables to the device.
Email
BigPond membership includes 1 email address and mailbox on your Cable account. You can choose your own BigPond email address (as long as it's available). There is 20MB of mail storage space and each additional mailbox costs $1 per month with up to 15 available.
Switch Between Plans, Once a Month
You can move up and down between higher and lower download allowances for free, once a month. This feature helps you increase your download allowance if you expect to have increased use of the internet during a given month.
