Premium Speed Broadband Pack
This plan features the Optus Premium Speed cable broadband pack which offers an accelerated download rate on content hosted in Australia.
Explanation: The Premium Speed Pack upgrades your broadband connection to Optus's fastest DOCSIS 3.0-based internet service which increases download speeds for most Australian-hosted content. Actual download speed can be affected by factors such as your equipment and LAN performance, settings, hardware, software, internet activity, location of content accessed and congestion. WiFi connection may not be as fast as wired device.
Can you get Optus Premium Speed Cable Broadband?
Optus Cable Broadband is only available in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane metropolitan areas.
Getting Started
Installation of Optus Cable Broadband (see Other Fees & Charges tab above)
Optus Cable Broadband needs to be professionally installed. If you are switching to Optus, there is no BYO Modem option for Optus Cable and you must get an Optus Cable Modem.
Professional Installation (see Other Fees & Charges tab above)
Professional Installation is necessary for installing Optus Cable Broadband and requires a technician visiting your house.
Wired & Wireless Modems
Unless you are using a wireless modem or wired router with additional cabling to your computer, it is most likely that you will need to have your computer positioned near the phone socket in your house. If you wish to network multiple computers in your home to the Internet, you will require either a Home WiFi modem/router or a wired 4 port modem/router. If you are using two or more computers in the house, your download allowance will be shared amongst all the computers in the house i.e. there is not a download allowance allocated to each computer.
